It started with one Friday.

Nothing fancy — just a few of us, a bottle nobody had tried yet, and a couple hours that weren't spoken for. We figured we'd do it again sometime. Then sometime turned into every other week, and every other week turned into something people started planning around.

Here's the thing we noticed pretty quickly: the whiskey was never really the point. It was the excuse. A good bottle gives you something to talk about for the first five minutes — after that, it's just people catching up, telling stories, and making plans to do it again. Drinking something new alone is fine. Drinking it with people who'll actually remember the conversation afterward is better.

So that's what Pour Friday really is — a standing reason to get the same people around the same table on a regular basis. The bourbon changes every time. The company is what keeps everyone coming back.

If that sounds like something your city or your group is missing, that's exactly why we put together a guide for starting your own chapter — so you don't have to figure it out from scratch the way we did.
